This holiday house, designed for a family with four teenage children, is situated on the first line of dunes at Cape ST. Francis.

 

The thatched roof, shaped like dunes amongst which it lies, culminates in the massive chimney. The walls forming the rib-like skeleton of the five bedrooms and living rooms, step back to allow for a view and outside doors to each space.

 

Kitchen and services area form a wing which protects the living-out area of the dining room from the south-easter.

 

All windows and glass doors have shutters for security, painted in shades of blue and green with the lighter shades facing inward.
