About us

Located in Cape Town, the practice provides architectural expertise for new and heritage buildings specialising in contemporary interventions in a heritage context.

In support of its sustainability aims it has also been responsible for the re-cycling of buildings to new uses and has experience with green building technologies including rammed earth construction and rock store cooling and heating strategies and thermally efficient brick vaulting toward a zero-carbon world.

The practice continues the work and attitudes of the late Gabriël Fagan in acknowledging the value of designing buildings to suit the site, working with weather constraints, orientation, topography, context, material, and human scale. These primary concerns support responsible design.

Meet the Team

The practice has never been much larger than our current team of seven, comprising architect John Wilson Harris; two candidate architects, Collins Chamdimba and Nicole Oehley; architectural technologist Ismaa’eel Chothia; administrator Rozelle Morta; and two young interns, Lethabo Madlebe and Somila Dyakala, whom we have been very privileged to accommodate.
